The 7230 Has It!

Blackberry software 7230 is a mobile-based e-mail product. It is a standalone product that provides users with support for remote communications and operations. Blackberry software 7230 is the only portable product to pick up mail directly from public services, like MCI Mail and Compuserve, as well as NetWare MHS and Banyan VINES. It provides users with the same robust mail management features that comprise its new MailMAN 2.0 product also announced today.

Blackberry software 7230portable features are as follows. Full off-line folder system: Allows users to create, manage, organize and store messages in folders for sending when the user is connected to the LAN. Off-line directory: Provides the user with the ability to create and update a personal directory from the network directory. Off-line compose: Enables the user to compose and edit messages without a LAN connection. Deferred send/receive: Automatically saves outgoing messages until Personal MailMAN is linked up to a LAN, then batch transfers them. Picks up all new mail automatically when the user links to the LAN.

When blackberry software 7230 is used off-line, outbound messages are saved in a deferred state. A user may activate this ''deferred send/receive'' state by connecting to the network. There are four ways to connect blackberry software 7230 to the LAN so mail may be sent and received from the network. Attach directly to the LAN, enabling Personal MailMAN as a client application on the LAN. Use the dial-in capability provided by the network operating system to link into the LAN. Use personal MHS on the remote PC desktop to connect to NetWare MHS on the LAN. Use remote PC communication software support for remote dialing in to the LAN.

Blackberry software 7230 supports any 286 or higher IBM or Compaq compatible laptop computer. It supports Banyan Systems' VINES Release 4.10, both Novell Netware and LAN Manager, and Windows 3.1. Personal MailMAN is priced at $149. This is for a ''personal license,'' for use on the LAN, mobile, or remote PC.

Drivers to support Banyan, MHS, MCI and Compuserve are included with the product. Personal MailMAN is available for Banyan VINES and Novell MHS environments in June through select industry resellers.
