Fujitsu Systems of America, headquartered in San Diego, is owned by Fujitsu Ltd., Japan's largest computer manufacturer and a global leader in computer and telecommunications technology. Fujitsu Systems of America is a major supplier of Handheld Computer Systems, Retail Point-of-Sales Systems and Automated Teller Machines. The user interface has been altered, and there are some new add-ons, but ProWrite Plus is unmistakably based on Ami rather than Professional Write for MS-DOS. But ProWrite Plus shouldn't just be rejected out of hand as a repackaging of Ami and nothing more. It comes with direct support for Novell/Action Technologies' MHS electronic mail servers, for example, as well as a loosely integrated copy of Reference Software's Grammatik Windows grammar checker. But more significant than these add-ons is the evidence that Software Publishing's programmers have the vision necessary to produce good graphical user interfaces. |
